Engaging with Multimedia

Engage is a verb that could be transitive (engage someone into a conversation, meaning hold the attention or win the attention of somebody) and intransitive (become involved or take part in the activity).

Either way you use it, engagement, like good teaching, is based on relationship. Many of the things we teach are abstract, so the more hands-on tasks and activities we can provide, the better students understand their relationship between the abstract and the tangible.

Technology in the classroom has to be about teaching and learning from people, not from and about computers.

Use technology to open up students’ minds to different perspectives, facilitate meaningful and safe environment for learning.

We will show examples of student-made videos, montages and Facebook interaction.
